Careers – Treasure Design Studio

Treasure Design is a London based textile studio in Notting Hill specialising in hand embellished and embroidery panels for women’s fashion and is also a trend and design consultant on embellishments. The owner Duji Nanda is looking for an embroidery embellishment designer and graphics designer for artworks.

JOB ROLE & REQUIREMENTS

HAND EMBROIDERY / EMBELLISHMENT DESIGNER

Feminine and creative handwriting can make beautiful 3D florals and designs with a mix of components, using new and innovative techniques.

Works efficiently, quickly and has a good eye for colour and composition.

Can visualise where the embellishment will look best on a garment and develop the samples accordingly.

Is able to create moodboards and interpret surface decoration from images quickly.

Has a commercial eye and is up-to-date with trends.

Must be able to hand sew using embellishments and embroidery.

Is very enthusiastic and positive with an attitude to give your best and grow.

Would be required to work at trade shows in Paris and go to client meetings for sales, so someone with a pleasant demeanour and interest in that side of business is essential.

Work alongside others in the team to create surface decorations.

PRINT GRAPHICS DESIGNER

Must be proficient in Photoshop and Adobe.

Must be able to hand draw where needed

Be able to generate embroidery and embellishment artworks digitally using graphic tools like Photoshop, Illustrator, mixing hand drawn elements.

Must be able to work from briefs quickly.

Must be able to place artworks on garment shapes and have an understanding of proportions.

Must be able to draw realistic details of embellishments and embroidery.

Part of this role requires you to visit shops and markets in London to gather research and create boards of what’s trending that month in the stores.

Good eye for colour, able to pick up on trending looks, key trends etc.

Is very enthusiastic and positive with an attitude to give your best and grow.

Work alongside other team members to create surface decoration.

HOURS & PAY FOR BOTH ROLES

Part time freelancer working 9 hours a day with a 1 hour lunch break.

Rates are dependent on the designer’s previous experience.

Start date, ideally January 19th 2018.
